Aloha TripeaksAloha Tripeaks – The next installment of the Aloha game series (Remember the card matching Mahjong game, Aloha Solitaire?) is Aloha Tripeaks, where players take a balloon ride over the Hawaiian Islands and play 70 levels of solitaire card games. The game is based on the classic “Pyramid Golf” solitaire game, where gamers build on the tableau’s stock pile with cards that are one value higher or lower to the face up  card, either ascending or descending. To win the level, eliminate all cards on the tableau, moving them to the stock pile. The cool difference here is when you’re stuck and there are no more moves, your handy bonuses can save you! Sparkle Sparkle – Sparkle is one my favorite and most addictive Luxor-like games where you exert your aiming skills to free the Crowberry Woods from the shadow of Darkness. Use your Orb Slinger to shoot colorful spheres into groups of three or more of the same color, which clears the chain of orbs from the board – and in doing so, reclaim every corner of the verdant forest. Agatha Christie Peril at End House

As the best-selling writer of books of all time and the best-selling writer of any kind, Agatha Christie has influenced not only her loyal readers but unsuspecting audiences as well. Her works have been adapted into cartoons, anime, films, stage works, television series  (Poirot, Miss Marple, etc.) and games. The game takes its inspiration from the original novel of the same name, Peril at End House, A Hercule Poirot Mystery, which was written 76 years ago. In typical Agatha Christie fashion, this Mac game is also a “whodunit” using I-Spy, hidden objects game play. In order to solve this murder mystery, gamers are to play through dozens of fun puzzles. Nick Buckley is the last in a long line of Buckleys living at End House, an enormous and isolated estate overlooking the cliffs of St. Loo. Following several attempts on Nick’s life, the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot steps in to find out who the killer is and vows to unravel their motives before it’s too late.

Escape the Museum 2 for macYou might remember in Escape the Museum, you were playing a hidden object game from Susan’s point of view as she searched through artifacts in the crumbled museum while also looking for her daughter, Caitlyn. In Escape the Museum 2, you’re coming from David’s POV, Susan’s husband, who was at home at the time the devastating earthquake occurred. Both games require hidden object searching but a difference in this sequel is that there is much more adventure gaming and puzzle solving required in addition to the main hidden objects game play. David is on one side of town and he’s got to traverse the damaged city to get to the museum, where Susan and Caitlyn are – a sticky situation because it’s not just an easy straight shot to the museum due to the devastation and obstacles caused by the earthquake. Get David to negotiate the fractured city across town on his way to saving Susan and Caitlyn from a crumbling museum.

Whack the DeadWhack The Dead (free) – Halloween is one of those holidays that I get really excited about, even though I now live in France where no one knows quite how to celebrate it like Americans do. That’s okay, though, because I’ll simply celebrate it with Halloween-themed games. Why not fête this year by whacking the dead? C’mon, it’s fun. This tiny, silly game on your desktop is perfect for a one minute game play of not only whacking zombies with shovels, but also with revolvers, shotguns and grenades. Beat my score of 1001! SweetopiaSweetopia – What is Halloween without candy? No candy corn, mini Snickers, cute bags of M&Ms? Halloween is not Halloween without candy, so I’ve included this excellent orb shooter that I’d say is one of the top five of this genre. Consider it a cross between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Zuma. Kate Gainsborough is re-opening her grandfather’s old candy factory, but runs into problems. One disturbing hurdle is the two sherbet sizzle candies if they should collide will blow up the building and destroy all of Kate’s hard work. Your job is to keep these two orbs away from each other by matching three or more like color candies to pop them with sphere launchers. Download it
