Zen Stones

As one of the most chill logic puzzle games I’ve played recently, it’s not surprising that Zen Stone’s tagline is, “Relax, it’s just a game.” There’s no plot or story here and you are never on the clock so take your time to solve each level. No one cares if you take five minutes or an hour – or even more than that. Send stones from the outer board to the main playing field. Shoot to have three or more adjacent stones of the same color and they will disappear from the inner board. Do this until you clear the playing field to move on the next level. Take advantage of the many bonuses that will help you go forward. You will soon fall in love with these bonuses, especially the “UP” bonus. The game can be truly addictive for puzzle gamers. If you become stuck on a level, don’t get your undies in a twist. Just start over because afterall, it’s just a game.

The Lost City of Z

The Lost City of Z (pronounced Zed) is a place that no one is sure really ever existed. The legendary British explorer Percy Fawcett was convinced it was an ancient Amazonian civilization of great sophistication, architecture, and culture with streets and temples of gold. His obsession took him to the Amazon numerous times and in the 1920s, he set out with his 21 year-old son and some of his friends en route to the destination of his obsession: the lost city of El Dorado, the City of Gold, or simply called, The Lost City of Z. They were never seen again.

They weren’t the only people who went missing, either. After them, many researchers, explorers, archeologists, students and search teams also disappeared into the deepest crevices of the forest, never to be heard from again. Now that I’ve thoroughly depressed those of you reading this, how about playing a game? C’mon, you’ll feel better. Based on the tangled true story involving Col. Fawcett and a researcher after him, the game Lost City of Z involves much more adventure and entertainment in the form of a hidden objects game. As you explore the famous Amazonian rain forest, look for evidence to follow the trail of a missing National Geographic researcher. At your disposal are helpful tools and clues you find along the way. You will trace the paths of explorers who searched for the elusive and perhaps imaginary ancient kingdom. There will be mysterious messages to solve and you’ll need to uncover the trails of generations of explorers in your quest to find your sister. That’s right! Your sister is missing, too!

Escape From Paradise 2 – A Kingdom’s Quest

The Sims-like game for Mac, Escape From Paradise 2, is the sequel to the excellent Escape From Paradise, which throws you onto an uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean to lead survivors of the shipwreck. While your mission there was to explore several islands to get your tribe to thrive, in this part two, your main tasks are to find your true love and become the fearless chief of the tribe. You have a lot to do here but you will be assisted by your loyal, pet monkey in playing through addictive mini-games and in completing various challenges to advance throughout the game, which all results in progressing as a tribal society. One of the mini-games is a match three puzzle where you can earn supplies like wood and food for your group. You can also win much needed island skills. You will be on many quests to build wells, homes and bridges, and in the process you will meet a bunch of people, one of whom could be your future mate for life!

Trapped – The Abduction

Get ready to SCREAM! The Grim Reaper is heeeeeere. Ok, he’s not exactly the Grim Reaper (but he IS wearing black, is hooded and is scary). He’s a psycho serial killer who has kidnapped Helene and thrown her into the realm of his horrific deviousness. The dude is seriously sadistic. The story inside Trapped the Abduction might take ideas from the movie Scream- but instead of using his fascination with horror movies to set up his diabolical doings, the killer grabs his inspiration from hidden object games and puzzles. So…during Helene’s incarceration inside an atrocious building set up with surveillance cameras in every room, she must find items and solve puzzles to escape and save her own life…and to add even more creepiness to the equation, he’ll be watching everything she does.
