New Ancient Board Game: Senet

The game of Senet, created in ancient Egypt in roughly 3,500 BC, is purported to being the world’s first board game. During its time, it was tremendously popular with all people from commoners to kings. The Egyptians held the belief that people who played it well were protected by gods and goddesses.
Unfortunately, no one bothered to write down the rules. Plebians! So recently, scholars came up with their own educated guesses about how it’s played, and made a few changes to the rules. Today’s version incorporates them into the modern game of Senet.
