Record Skype Conversations and Video With SkypeCap 3.0

July 22nd, 2009 by cate

Have you ever wished you could record your Skype conversations and video? Before you scream, “no way!” just remember the times when your friends or family sang a song or two for you, or when you’re away from your kids and want to see them over and over because the last Skype video was priceless? Perhaps you could’ve sworn someone said something in a business meeting that you could quote later. If they didn’t get caught on “tape” they might be compelled to deny it. Doesn’t that happen all too often? Yes.

Features:

* Record Skype audio conversation
* Record Skype group brainstorming sessions
* Record telephone and cellular phone calls via Skype
* Detect session automatically and save it!
* Recognizes Skype audio sessions
* SkypeCap has a transparent user-friendly interface and is very simple in use.

For whatever reason (and there are many more than are listed), you can now record Skype conversations with SkypeCap. Download a free demo

SkypeCap costs $49.95

Any user/password combinations you’ve created for your .Mac account in iPhoto will also be available in iMovie.”

New Mac Freeware: Tube TV 1.0

February 12th, 2008 by cate

From chimosoft:

Got an Apple TV, video iPod, or iPhone and want more content for it? Wish you could watch YouTube on your TV or iPod? Like to keep copies of your favorite internet videos on your Mac?

TubeTV is a freeware program for Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard, and above which enables you to search for, save, and convert YouTube and many other flash videos to a format suitable for playback on your favorite devices.

A built in search bar and web browser helps you conveniently locate your favorite videos from common sites such as YouTube. If you prefer, a single button or menu option will grab the currently displayed URL or movie from your default web browser (Safari, Camino, Firefox, or OmniWeb). High quality video conversions using the H.264 codec are performed with QuickTime® and Perian. If desired, TubeTV can add exported movies directly to iTunes and set appropriate comment tags enabling you to create a smart playlist. Alternately, double clicking on a converted video file will open it in iTunes or drag and drop a saved video file on to QuickTime Player to view it locally.

Features
-Built in browser with search bar for YouTube and Google Video movies.
-Support for many other sites which use flash video.
-Support for bookmarking movies (requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or higher).
-Optional history of recently viewed movies (requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or higher).
-Ability to download using the flash video cache if the entire movie has been loaded.
-”Download without watching” technology enables you to save a movie without first watching it.
-Auto export video as flv (flash video), or for Apple TV, Video iPod, the 3rd generation iPod nano, the iPod Touch, iPhone, or other generic cell phone. See full compatibility list below.
-Batch download.
-Batch convert existing movies from your Mac.
-Ability to add exported movies to iTunes with appropriate tags for smart playlist creation.
-Uses the high quality H.264 video codec for export (with exception of the generic cell phone setting).
-Option to grab URL or movie from your default browser (Safari, Firefox, Camino, or OmniWeb).
-Universal binary – Intel, PPC native; written with Cocoa.

Quickly and easily take any video from YouTube, and download it for playing on your video iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV. Use Tooble’s simple interface to browse YouTube through categories, searching, or with a direct URL, and select any video for download. Unlike other YouTube downloader utilities, Tooble communicates directly with YouTube, giving you access to sources like your favorite videos. One click automatically downloads the video, converts it, and imports it into iTunes to be played or synced to your iPod.

MacHeads: The Movie

January 23rd, 2008 by cate

macheads the movie
From Applegazette:

Having just watched the trailer for this film, all I can say is – WOW. You have to see this!

MacHeads is a new documentary film that chronicles the lives and experiences of several members of the “Cult of Mac”, including the 2007 Macworld announcement of the iPhone during Steve Job’s Keynote.

From the trailer the film has a very “Trekkies” vibe to it. That documentary is a favorite of mine for chronicling the lives of Star Trek fans who are obsessed with the sci-fi series. MacHeads appears as though its going to follow the same type of fans -but with a Mac focus.

You can view the trailer by clicking here.

There is no word yet on the official release date of the film. I’m hoping to have more information on the project soon.

Apple Fan Goes From YouTube to Prime Time

October 29th, 2007 by cate

From Wired:

After Apple fanatic Nick Haley posted his homemade iPod Touch commercial to YouTube last month, a few ad execs at the Cupertino based company saw it. But rather than send him a cease-and-desist letter, they bought his ad, flew him out to Los Angeles to reshoot it in high def, and will be broadcasting it during the World Series this weekend. THAT’S how you love your customers, people!

Check it out here.
