The game is based on the classic “Pyramid Golf” solitaire game, where gamers build on the tableau’s stock pile with cards that are one value higher or lower to the face up card, either ascending or descending. Sparkle – Sparkle is one my favorite and most addictive Luxor-like games where you exert your aiming skills to free the Crowberry Woods from the shadow of Darkness. Use your Orb Slinger to shoot colorful spheres into groups of three or more of the same color, which clears the chain of orbs from the board – and in doing so, reclaim every corner of the verdant forest. Thomas and the Magical Words – Combining Scrabble with arcade gaming and a little Harry Potter thrown in, Thomas and the Magical Words will keep word gamers, kids and adults alike, entertained for hours. Deluxe Poc Mon – As the name suggests, this game is sort of like Pacman, the arcade game from the 80s, but here’s the big difference: it’s much more fun. Packed with all kinds of extras like magical bonuses, duels, guns, bombs, ghosts, lasers and more, it’s everything you wanted in the original classic game. Well, now you have ‘em. Play alone or with teams of up to three players. 100 levels, extra goodies to discover, adding your own music in the game and a kids’ mode for little ones or for gamers whose Poc Mon chops aren’t up to par. Mystic Mine – Following in the footsteps of the above Western-themed game, Mystic Mine takes you under the ground. Doesn’t that sound fun? Luckily, you won’t have to experience any claustrophobia down there in the mine playing this puzzle game for Mac. Collect the required number of coins or gems and finish your missions in the limited time imposed on you. Guide your mining car (or is it called a mining cart?), making sure you switch the tracks with the spacebar to go in the direction of the treasure. Plan fast and well because you really aren’t given much time per level. This fun little puzzler for your Mac features over 200 levels and lots of bonuses. (torch, key, balloon, oiler, dynamite!) The Clockwork Man

Christine and her sweetie take a short trip for a romantic getaway at her parents’ cabin in the woods. Upon their arrival they find the cabin ransacked and their belongings and other items scattered every which way. Whack The Dead (free) – Halloween is one of those holidays that I get really excited about, even though I now live in France where no one knows quite how to celebrate it like Americans do. That’s okay, though, because I’ll simply celebrate it with Halloween-themed games. Why not fête this year by whacking the dead? C’mon, it’s fun. This tiny, silly game on your desktop is perfect for a one minute game play of not only whacking zombies with shovels, but also with revolvers, shotguns and grenades. Beat my score of 1001! I dare you. Download it

Sweetopia – What is Halloween without candy? No candy corn, mini Snickers, cute bags of M&Ms? Halloween is not Halloween without candy, so I’ve included this excellent orb shooter that I’d say is one of the top five of this genre. Consider it a cross between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Zuma. Kate Gainsborough is re-opening her grandfather’s old candy factory, but runs into problems. One disturbing hurdle is the two sherbet sizzle candies if they should collide will blow up the building and destroy all of Kate’s hard work. Your job is to keep these two orbs away from each other by matching three or more like color candies to pop them with sphere launchers. Download it
