Kakuro Epic for mac Kakuro Epic will be a wonderful match made in heaven for the gamers who love challenging Sudoku, math and crossword puzzles because it’s a combination of all those things. Players fill in all of the green boxes with correct numbers to pass the level. Simply insert a number into each cell so that the sum of the numbers in each row/column matches the clue sum associated with it (in the black cells). Pick from five different board sizes: 6×6, 7×7, 9×9, 12×12, 14×14; three levels of difficulty, and billions of unique puzzles.

Shutter IslandShutter Island – Taking place on an island off Massachusetts’s coast and involving an escaped schizophrenic patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, the suspense novel, Shutter Island (written by Dennis Lehane, the same author who penned Mystic River) turned feature film adaptation (a Martin Scorsese film to be released this month starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley) now turned Mac game, has made nearly all the rounds. You’ll be tagging along with US Marshals Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule as they set out to find a murderess name Rachel Solando. There’s a hurricane. It’s cold. It’s dark and it’s gruesome; the perfect equation to equal an entertainingly eerie experience! Shudder! While the game Shutter Island is probably one part of a marketing campaign to spread the buzz about the film, it has its own merits as a hidden objects game, filled with adventure quests and puzzles. Sudoku EpicSudoku Epic – Puzzle gamers might agree, I think, that Sudoku is the type of game you either love or hate. There doesn’t seem to be a middle ground. With Sudoku Epic you’ll be in sudoku heaven if you like games like these because it offers literally billions of puzzles! That is indeed EPIC, isn’t it? You won’t be getting bored any time soon here, but it if that does happen, you can change the board size, level of difficulty, enter the newspapers’ sudoku puzzles into the game, or simply design your own puzzles using the built-in editor. If you’re new to Sudoku, give it a whirl! You might find it challenging and fun. Basically, you’ll need to fill all blank squares on a 9×9 grid with the correct numbers. Each column and row must have numbers 1 though 9, with no repeats. Lastly, the nine 3×3 boxes that make up the grid must also contain numbers 1 through 9. If the game draws you in, say, in the first 20 minutes or so, you are probably a lover of sudoku. Otherwise, you might belong to the other category. Download it

Zen Stones for macAs one of the most chill logic puzzle games I’ve played recently, it’s not surprising Zen Stone’s tagline is, “Relax, it’s just a game.” There’s no plot or story here and you are never on the clock so take your time to solve each level. No one cares if you take five minutes or an hour – or even more than that. Send stones from the outer board to the main playing field. Shoot to have three or more adjacent stones of the same color and they will disappear from the inner board. Do this until you clear the playing field to move on the next level. Take advantage of the many bonuses that will help you go forward. You will soon fall in love with these bonuses, especially the “UP” bonus. The game can be truly addictive for puzzle gamers. If you become stuck on a level, don’t get your undies in a twist. Just start over because afterall, it’s just a game.

They somehow get separated and it’s pure chaos in the shattered museum. Your mission in Escape the Museum is to not only help Susan to reunite with Caitlin but also to navigate the crumbled building locating a collection of artifacts scattered over 60 levels. Escape the museum offers a very long game play and features adventure and puzzle elements, which add considerable variety in the game play. Download it
World of GooWorld of Goo – My mom pronounces the word, “good” as “goo” because of her thick accent. So, when I hear “World of Goo,” a puzzle-y construction game, “good” does comes to mind but here it’s an understatement. World of Goo is rather a world of greatness. Getting your hands on black (or green), sticky blobs of jiggly goo has never been more entertaining. Using realistic game physics, build structures so that a required number of goo balls can get sucked up into an escape pipe. In a style that reminds me of Cartoon Network colliding with Edward Gorey, World of Goo offers clever writing, whimsical graphics, music and effects, and thoughtfully designed, complex levels. Jets N Guns GoldJets N Guns Gold – Guess what this game involves? Right. Jets and guns! As an award-winning action side-scrolling shooter, reminiscent of arcade games, Jets n Guns Gold embraces a few simple concepts: kill, destroy and explode. You probably don’t need to be warned that there will be blood and gore and as soon as you begin you will love every minute of it all. For the true footie fan, Kickin’ Soccer takes you back to the top down perspective arcade games that were so popular in the 80s. Yup, this is when games involved more key controls and coordination! Slide, pass, dribble and shoot using simple combinations (arrow keys, z and x). The game features one and two-player modes, including an “arcade” mode where players compete one match at a time, and a “cup” mode that lets you play one country’s team (from a roster of 16), each with specific skills, trying to win the World Cup. The two-player mode lets you battle it out with another opponent on the same keyboard. Download it
