  by Cate Defrise

Delve deep into the vast world of all that is (which is a lot), and you shall reap endless rewards in your discoveries! So, stop whining that there are NO Mac Games; I found some just for you. Okay, they are not yet available but never fear, they're on the horizon, at the end of the rainbow, a hop skip and a jump away, (your turn to fill in the next cliché)... You know what I mean. Having said that, though, no one seems to be able to pinpoint the exact dates of when these wonderful games will be released. Just check the developers' sites often and you'll find out when you can play! Maybe in the meantime, you can check out some of their other games.

Kamaboko Bento

kamaboko bento

The harsh war years in ancient feudal Japan left so many without shelter or food. One such unfortunate soul was Pierre-Henri, an out-of-work sumo wrestler. Why does this Japanese sumo have a French name? We don’t know. Anyway, one day the emaciated sumo (barely hanging on to his mawashi sumowear) stumbled upon a secret beach village of Japanese mystics who did not welcome outsiders, as they did not wish to be maligned by witch hunters. He instantly noticed his favorite fishcake, kamaboko, cooling just inside an open kitchen window. Unable to resist, the apparently anorexic sumo grabbed all of the kamaboko and ran away as fast as a sickly sumo could, eating unabashedly at the same time. Unfortunately, a villager caught him and promptly put a curse on him. He suddenly found himself banished to a mystical place, an unearthly world with no food, sake or bento (lunch boxes). He was bummed. Please feed him and free him from his dreadful purgatory!

Black Sheep Squadron

black sheep squadron

The game, "Black Sheep Squadron" is loosely based on the 1970s television show, Baa Baa Black Sheep, starring Robert Conrad, itself, loosely based on Pappy Boyington's autobiography, Baa Baa Black Sheep, which, in turn, was loosely based on the facts.

Where was I?

Oh yea, the game, Black Sheep Squadron (also known as BS Squadron) takes all the elements from the Marine Corps aviation fighter squadron as well as the backdrop of WWII and places it within the context of a "Period" Shoot 'em up game. Many of the game elements remain, in part, true to the time, meaning the use of graphics close to resembling Vought O2U and SU-1 scouting biplanes and fighter gear much like those used by the original (not loosely based on facts) pilots.

Black Sheep Squadron is a game for very experienced and serious shoot 'em up gamers.
